Construction Manager / Superintendent

Purpose and Scope:
The Construction Manager focuses on ensuring the efficient and profitable execution of commercial solar projects. They are directly accountable for project costing, supervision of project quotes, and the effective assembly of all technology associated with solar installations.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures timely ordering and pickup of solar project parts and materials.
  • Reviews and validates quotes received from Estimating for commercial solar projects.
  • Coordinates availability or rental of necessary equipment for daily tasks (e.g., Skidsteer, Mini Excavator, dump trailers, cranes).
  • Schedules daily construction activities for solar projects.
  • Verifies adherence to internal and external policies (Job Safety Analyses, Method of Procedures, call-ins, daily reports, tailgate meetings, etc.).
  • Performs ADP employee timecard approval based on scheduled work for solar projects.
  • Ensures adherence to build timelines for commercial solar installations.
  • Monitors workforce headcount for solar projects.
  • Assists the COP's Construction Manager with solar project coordination.
  • Monitors the project budget during material and subcontractor procurement.
  • Invites customers to inspect completed solar projects upon their conclusion, and upon approval, notifies the office to initiate billing.
  • Responds promptly to emails and phone calls related to commercial solar projects.
  • Compiles and submits completion documentation for commercial solar projects in a timely manner.
  • Checks budgetary allowances for overtime before granting approvals.
  • Submits per diem requests for global cash cards related to commercial solar projects.
  • Maintains customer relationships and inquires about future solar projects.
  • Regularly communicates project progress and suggests any necessary alterations to completion dates for solar projects.
  • All other duties as required.

Superintendent Duties:
  • Directly oversees on-site operations for commercial solar projects.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Coordinates with subcontractors and internal teams to optimize workflow.
  • Conducts regular site meetings and updates the Construction Manager on progress.
  • Addresses any on-site challenges or delays promptly to maintain project timelines.
  • Provides technical expertise and guidance to the construction team.
  • Manages the day-to-day activities of field personnel.
  • Collaborates with the Construction Manager to resolve issues and optimize project efficiency.
  • Monitors and maintains quality control on-site.
  • Provides regular reports on project status to higher management.

Experience:
  • 3-5 years of management
  • Solar or PV experience is a plus, but not required

This position will require about 70% of travel. 

Pay: $80,000-$110,000/yr
