Solar Site Assessor/Project Scheduler

The Solar Site Assessor/Project Scheduler is a hybrid role consisting of two job related job functions.

The Project Scheduler will develop and prepare project schedules for client focused project and programs, coordinate the collection of relevant data points, and monitor project progress. The Scheduler will identify the major business components and activities required for scheduling work collaborating with in-house support comprised of sales, development, engineering and construction.

The Solar Site Assessor will conduct onsite evaluations to determine energy harvesting potential and provide detailed site information to our design and installation teams. This role requires significant travel to project sites across the country.
Key Expertise:
 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in schedule development and maintenance as well as providing detailed site information for downstream development teams for one or more of the following implementations: Commercial Rooftop Solar, Ground-mount Solar, Solar Canopy Parking
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Onsite Site Evaluation: Conduct onsite assessments for commercial and industrial solar projects nationwide. Quickly create and share detailed site drawings, reports, and analysis. Assess and document electrical systems and roof conditions. Perform shade analysis and review weather patterns. Review rooftop, carport/canopy, and ground-mounted systems
  • Technical Documentation: Accurately assess and document electrical systems and roof conditions. Perform detailed shade analysis and review local weather patterns. Create comprehensive site drawings and reports to be used by solar designers and installation teams. Determine the best type, size, and layout of solar panels for each site
  • Collaboration and Communication: Communicate detailed site information to the company's solar designers and installation teams. Ensure clear and effective communication regarding site-specific details and requirements.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in performing site evaluations and using tools for shade analysis. Strong understanding of electrical gear and solar system interconnections. Experience with rooftop, carport/canopy, and ground-mounted solar systems. Ability to assess and document electrical systems and roof conditions accurately
  • Schedule Development and Maintenance: Create and maintain project schedules using industry-standard software identifying relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints. Ensure accuracy, version control, and alignment with project goals. Monitor progress and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Coordination and Communication: Coordinate tasks, milestones, and updates across project teams. Facilitate open communication to keep stakeholders informed. Collaborate with technical experts and project leads.
  • Risk Management and Corrective Actions: Analyze potential delays and major schedule changes and develop recovery plan/what-if schedules. Propose corrective actions to keep projects on track. Prepare reports on schedule adjustments.
 
Key Qualifications:
  • Commercial Renewable Energy Construction Experience: Relevant experience with commercial rooftop/canopy/ground-mount solar, BESS and EV charging infrastructure construction.
 
Travel Requirements:
  • About 15% overnight travel will be required. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for onsite assessments.

Education/Training:
  • Educational Background: Project Management, Construction Management, or related fields is preferred.
  • Certifications: PMP or other Program Management certifications, training, and/or demonstrated experience are preferred.
  • Licenses: Possession of a C-10 electrical license is a significant benefit

Technical Requirements:
Tools Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera or other scheduling software and MS Office Suite. Familiarity with solar energy systems and renewable energy principles. Proficiency with site assessment tools and software.
 
Experience: 
Minimum of 5 years in each discipline: demonstrated project scheduling experience in commercial renewable energy construction and solar site assessment, particularly for commercial and industrial projects.

Pay: $90,000 - $110,000/yr
