Job Description
Purpose and Scope:
The Collections Clerk performs collection efforts.
Responsibilities:
  • Contacts customers for collection of or arrangement for payment.
  • May negotiate and establish a payment schedule, return of unpaid merchandise or other negotiated terms.
  • May issue invoice reminders.
  • Memorializes communications and contacts for accurate recall.
  • Regularly reports results to management.
  • Manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact.
  • Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.
  • Updates and expands client contact information.
  • Performs skip tracing or utilizes other methods to locate and contact clients, companies or others.
  • May be involved in basic legal proceedings for collection, such as filing in Small Claims court.
  • Coordinates with collection agency, if necessary.
  • All other duties as required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including negotiation.
  • Excellent people skills:  personable, persuasive and sympathetic.
  • Excellent organization and follow-up.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Focused and persistent.
Education/ Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred.
  • Computer proficiency and experience with accounting software, MAS 500, preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of GAAP.

Experience:
  • 2 Years of experience in accounting, preferably involving collections.

Compensation: $60,000/yearly salary DOE
